Meet the Team
Stephen Cusano
Studio Owner, Head Audio Engineer, Producer, Drummer
Stephen Cusano is a drummer, producer, and studio founder from North Haven, CT, who has made a lasting impact on the Connecticut music community since age eighteen, when he organized “A Give Back Benefit Concert” to support his high school’s music program. A graduate of The Hartt School’s Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz, Stephen quickly became a central figure in multiple touring acts including Broca’s Area, Wise Old Moon, and The Meadows Brothers Band.
Recognizing the need for a dedicated, artist-centered space in Hartford, Stephen founded Parkville Sounds, an ever-evolving creative hub that serves as a recording studio, performance venue, and community anchor. Since 2017, Parkville Sounds has hosted thousands of musicians — from local rising stars to internationally touring acts — providing services ranging from full-length album production, EPs, singles, live video sessions, ADR, voiceovers, and more. Some notable artists Stephen has worked with at Parkville Sounds are Allen Stone, Doobie Powell, Doug Wimbish, Jaimoe (of the Allman Brothers Band), Jonathan Barber, Maddie Jay, Phil X, Karl Denson (Rolling Stones), and members of Lizzo’s and Jazz at Lincoln Center’s touring ensembles.
Stephen is the creator and executive producer of The Parkville Sessions, a live in-studio concert series on video—originally picked up by PBS/CPTV— that brings world-renowned artists into an intimate studio setting, now open to a live public audience.
In addition to his studio work, Stephen remains deeply committed to the arts community through his involvement with Make Music Hartford, the Greater Hartford Arts Council, and local music initiatives at Parkville Market. His leadership and impact have been recognized by the University of Hartford Alumni Association and by the Association of Fundraising Professionals with the Outstanding Young Adult in Philanthropy Award.
